Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience
Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience involves the use of genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunocytochemistry, physiology, and anatomy to understand the function of the nervous system. Members of our Program in Neuroscience use these approaches to explore behavior, energy balance, learning and memory, development, neuroendocrinology, synaptic transmission, neuronal excitability, ion channel function, and gene regulation. Interests include not only the mechanisms underlying normal function, but also the mechanisms that contribute to a wide range of neuropathologic conditions.
